Keywords: A new year brings new hope - the hope of starting fresh, of correcting past mistakes, of repairing broken relationships, and of going forward with Christ. Today, the first Sunday of a new year, is an opportunity for you to start your life anew, to start fresh with Christ. Sins are forgiven when we confess them honestly to Christ, and our relationship is restored. Life is always a question of whether we are going to walk by faith or walk by sight. Making "New Year Resolutions" is easy enough, but there are two dangers here: (1) making them and not doing them, but (2) making resolutions impulsively, without really considering whether these are the most important things that we ought to be trying to do. Walking by faith means that we not only trust God, but that we seek to align our priorities with his priorities. Walking by faith means that we live by the promises of God, and align our hearts with his, loving the things he loves, valuing the things he values. Faith means that we take the "easy yoke" and "light burden" of Christ upon our shoulders and follow after him, letting him carry the weight. And when we do this, we find his power at work in our hearts and lives.– Pastor David Packer
